About Maria
Based in Homer, Alaska.
Losvilion Prophecy is her first full-length novel that she began in her final year of college and has spent two years writing, editing, and rewriting.
“My desire as a Christian fantasy author is to create characters and stories that encourage readers and show them the light in the darkness”
Maria grew up with a love of books and writing, books beginning as soon as she could read, and writing as early as seven or eight. For a long time, writing was always just a hobby.
Music was her main focus in high school, and it wasn’t until her sophomore year of college that she realized writing was her true passion.
By day you’ll find Maria as a full-time barista and part-time music teacher. When she isn’t working or writing, she can be found exploring new films with her boyfriend, tackling her ever-growing TBR book list, and listening to epic soundtrack music as she dreams up new ideas for future novels.
What inspires her.
As a Christian writer, I’ve always wanted to let the love of Christ and the morals that stem from a belief in Him show through my writing. In the past, I experimented with multiple different genres, mainly historical fiction, but I always found that adding the faith element seemed forced and unrealistic.
When I began writing fantasy, I found that I could subtly incorporate elements of my faith, such as giving characters certain morals, writing light-overcoming-darkness storylines, and including sacrifice for others.
This way of writing seemed much more real to me, and I found it was much easier and more enjoyable to write than any other genre.
I have always loved fantasy for its creation of unique worlds and creatures that differ from the real world.

“The shadow of the structure stretched across the desert, quickly encircling the riders. Cracks and fissures skittered up the side of the stone, created by sand and time. A gaping entrance to the structure was carved into the rock, and a tall, aged wood door covered the entrance.”
